In this episode, we meet Dani Reyes-Acosta, athlete, filmmaker, adventurer, and so much more! Dani shares her and her family’s background with us from their start generations ago in Colorado. We talk about her skiing from a young age to finding surfing and the ocean to eventually making her way back to the mountains and falling in love with snowboarding & splitboarding. She also tells us about her experience starting her own production company, Afuera Productions, and The Outlier film series, which aims to tell culturally acute stories in the outdoor industry.
We also discuss the importance of community and expanding our perspectives in the outdoors and the need to step outside of our comfort zones, and the value of reframing how we view our time outside and setting goals that are grounded in our own reality.
